Old Time County Fair and Farm Days

Old Time County Fair & Farm Days

Carroll County Parks proudly announces a partnership with The West Georgia 2-Cylinder Club to present The Old Time Fair and Farm Days this spring at Little Tallapoosa Park. The 2-Cylinder Club is celebrating 20 years of Farm Days and joining with The Old Time Fair promises to be twice the fun for everyone. The event harkens back to simpler times and near forgotten ways of living. Reminisce about plowing with mules, churning butter, growing vegetables or bring the grandkids to show them how things used to be back in the "good old days". There will be antique tractors, bee keeping, quilting, petting zoo, garden tractor pulls, tractor parade and so much more. West Georgia Mounted Search and Rescue and the Carroll County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit will be doing demonstrations throughout the weekend. Of course there will be music by local bands and what would a fair be without lots of food! The dates are April 20th & 21st. If you would like to be part of the Fair or if you have questions, please call 770.830.2222. Cost is $5 per car.

Welcome to Our New Website

Welcome to the newly-launched carrollcountygaparks.com. We hope to develop this site as a resource for everything related to Carroll County's beautiful parks. Whether you are looking to cool off with a swim at John Tanner Park's sand beach, take a scenic horse ride down Little Tallapoosa Park's equestrian trails, or have a quiet picnic at one of McIntosh Reserve's campsites along the Chattahoochee River, this website is a great place to start planning your visit.

The site is still a work in progress, and we've love to hear any feedback you might have. So explore around, stay a while, and let us know what you think.

Little Tallapoosa Comfort Station Nearly Complete

Crews are hard at work completing the comfort station at the new Little Tallapoosa Park, and tent campers should expect to have a place to bathe and do laundry around the July 4th holiday.

While the more than seven miles of unpaved trails are already open and ready for hikers, mountain bikers and equestrian fanatics alike, the paved trails aren't quite finished yet. They're expected to be open before the end of July.

Here's a little more about Little Tallapoosa Park: The pristine 256-acre tract is bisected by the Little Tallapoosa River and features approximately 7 miles of natural trails for hiking and equestrian use. The RV camping area is open and has 23 sites with full hookups. The tent area with 32 sites and a comfort station with showers and laundry will be open before the 4th of July. Two miles of paved trails are being installed now and are anticipated to ready by the end of July.
